Communion (The Lord’s Supper)
A sacred act of remembrance, unity, and proclamation.
Communion is a sacred act of remembrance and proclamation. In sharing the Lord’s Supper, we proclaim the lordship of Christ, celebrate our union with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and express our spiritual fellowship with one another as people of faith.
It is an outward sign of our shared union with God through faith in Jesus Christ and His finished sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins.
Our communion table is open to all who know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
At West Church
Communion is typically served on the first Sunday of each month, though this may occasionally change to fit the church calendar.
The elements are gluten-free bread and grape juice, and they are usually served to the congregation while people remain seated.
Communion may also be shared at other services, retreats, or gatherings. We do not require that Communion be served by an ordained person.
